Commissioned a new luxury website to help improve UX, SEO and Accessibility, while improving key content to drive greater targeted traffic.

About the brand 

As a core pillar of the business, Almanac’s website is a significant revenue driver, from direct booking, through to OTA’s, travel agents and tour operators all use the site to define their stay.  However, the site was lacking a premium feel, clear navigation, the path to purchase was complicated, the site hadn’t been optimised for SEO, the current setup presented security risks and more.  It was time to build a new website.

The Request

To develop a market leading website that would help the business to grow but also drive greater revenue opportunities through improved UX, easier navigation, strong technical and on-page content, while improving some of the fundamentals of the site, security, accessibility, tracking to name a few.

To build a beautiful market leading website that could help Almanac with their digital transformation programme, helping them to remove relance from outdated technology.

The Process

The site was actually four websites, a global brand site and three individual hotel sites.  Each of the sites there where multiple languages, in total, five, with bespoke content relevant for each market, over one thousand unique pages.  Alongside this we overhauled the tracking, built in a new booking engine, updated third party vendors such as hotel vouchers, while building much stronger security and site speed, while future proofing the SEO and accessibility.

Impact

The project took twelve months to complete, and came in on budget.  Immediately, we have seen an improvement in SEO rankings and traffic around there core keywords.  While the business has a strong new visual identity.
